Three days has passed since we began the second part of the internship which is an educational visit to Mauritius. It has been three pleasant days with a lot of activities planned. On Day 2, Saturday 6th December we had a long day where we were fully occupied. We got the chance to meet SYAH-Mauritius, who were our host for the day. First, we were supposed to do a hike but the plan changed due to the bad weather so we went to the Indian Ocean Commission instead. After, we did a bus tour in the South of Mauritius, visiting the different tourist attractions there. (For more information, read Kelsy Gill’s blog). That was it for the day. As we know it is an educational visit, but what’s a visit without a little fun especially on a Saturday night??? After the lengthy day, we came back to the hotel to have dinner and get ready to go out. SYAH-Mauritius organized a karaoke and bowling night for us at Strike City located in the Bagatelle mall. Of course we were skeptical about the fact that we were going bowling because as you know this is something very new to most of us. I myself was a bit doubtful about it but everyone were going to do it, so why not?! The private lounge was dedicated for us only, and as we entered the room we were all amazed, that we forgot if we were exhausted after the day we had. We settled in the room and then prepared for karaoke session. It was an exciting and amusing moment where we all had huge smiles on our faces. Next up on the program was bowling! We went down to the bowling arena and wore shoes that is essential for bowling and went up to the lane we were placed. There was a sitting area for each lane so we made ourselves comfortable. Our group was broken down into two separated teams and our names was displayed on a screen. When we were ready, we followed the order of names and began to bowl! First round was not really good for most of us (laughing emoji), but we got better after several rounds and I was able to make a few strikes. Astonishing right?? The night continued and so did the entertainment. I was surprised by my own performance for a beginner and was really pleased and proud of myself. This is an experience that will remain at heart. It was a lively night that the team want to repeat it again before we leave Mauritius. Thank you SYAH-Mauritius for a mind-blowing activity. Till next time! Stana.
