Sitting at the airport with passport in hand, we were all excited about the second part of the internship: Our trip to Mauritius. On our descent to Mauritius, throughout the plane’s window we could see wonderful mountains and beaches and therefore couldn’t wait to land! As soon as we got out of the airport, the “Flying Express” bus came to pick us up. The journey was bumpy but pretty amazing! We got the chance to discover different landscapes and cities from the airport at Plaisance to Quatre Bornes whilst passing by. At around 5pm we arrived at our hotel located on the Western part of Mauritius, at Quatre Bornes exactly, called “Le Paradis des Iles”. We were welcomed to this calm and cosy residence by the owner Mr. Deegesh who is very friendly and has good customer service skills. I was placed in a nice room together with other interns known by: Sophie, Alexandra, Stanna and Shakur and we got along very well! During this first day, we learnt about each other much better throughout a little game in which we had to remember all our teammates names and addresses. At dinner, we ate one my new favourite Mauritian dish: fried rice, which I enjoyed very much. That small part of the Mauritian culture was enough to make me want to discover more about this beautiful country which I am totally looking forward to do so. That’s all for now folks, see you soon in our future blogs! Talia Dupont
