What can I say? My two weeks went by really fast, I’m going to miss working there but I’m not going to miss waking up at 05 30 every morning.
These two weeks at SPA taught me a lot especially how people manage to wake up early every day with a bright smile to come to work. Hello again! Who knew that time could pass by so fast. Last week was truly amazing at the Seychelles Air Force (SAF). This week my colleagues and I, Johnise Philoe, made a new start at the Seychelles Coast Guard.
Hey it’s me again Gaelle. Exciting days end fast and with a blink of an eye the year ends too. Second and last week at SFA but my journey does not end here. These two memorable weeks guided me towards my future goals, giving me a clear idea of what to expect next. As a young intern I had the chance to discover, observe and participate in sea activities at SFA.
Working in peak season is very demanding, it is when most fishermen come inshore to unload their catch waiting for an inspection before they go home to their family. Mostly sea cucumber and tuna vessels are in port as their open seasons starts from October to January. I had to leave work at 9am on 3 consecutive days for sea cucumber inspections and return to the office at 1pm. Hectic days at the office, monitoring different activities both on land and sea.
Wednesday 13th December 2017, it was unforgettable day that is for me of course.
I woke with great excitement to remember that there was a cruise ship coming to port that day, I was very excited because I’ve never seen one before. Hi guys its Kelsy again! Ready to start diffusing some of my acquired knowledge onto you. In my first blog, I remember asking your help in making a change…a difference for the better.
Wednesday 13th December 2017 was surely a day to remember! Instead of being in the office at SMSA, we switched it up a bit and moved to the New Port at the Seychelles Port Authority (SPA) for a day. Our guide for the day was Mr. Vincent Didon who is the Business Development Manager at SPA.
Hello again! It’s me, Johnise Philoe and I will be continuing my blog for this week before it ends. Day 4 is almost over and the week itself is literally flying away. Since the second day of the internship programme I was already feeling at home. The working space at which we were placed in was comfortable along with plenty information, which were very interesting.
